On 17 November 2021, the Representation of the European Commission in Poland (PKE) organised, together with the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM), a “National Debate on the Future of Europe” as part of the “Conference on the Future of Europe”(CoFE).

The debate was organised in the form of participatory workshops, divided into six thematic groups:

1. Internal market of the EU
2. Climate Transformation
3. Digital Transformation
4. Healthcare
5. Migration
6. EU’s role in the world

The people taking part in the Debate represented different social groups and different regions of the country.

The workshops were led by participatory facilitators. Each group also received substantive support from PKE and KPRM experts, who provided their expertise in the above thematic areas. The result of the workshop work was a set of conclusions and recommendations presented to representatives of the Polish government and the European Commission. These conclusions were also posted on the CoFE platform https://futureu.europa.eu/pl/

The opening plenary session of the workshop was attended by Mr Konrad Szymański, Minister for European Union Affairs; the closing plenary session was attended by Mr Janusz Wojciechowski, EU Commissioner for Agriculture.

Scope of services:

• Coordination of the entire project and supervision of its implementation
• Acquisition of participants for participatory workshops: preparation of a list of more than 60 institutions, NGOs, foundations, associations and unions, sending out invitations and follow-ups
• Running the event secretariat: liaising with participants, moderators and subject experts
• Preparation the technical implementation concept of the workshop: work in thematic groups (division into chat groups led by a subject moderator and technical moderator), presentation of the results of each group’s workshop work during a plenary session, live transmission
• Promotion of the event: development of the promotion concept of the debate; preparation of graphic and information materials; production of a teaser and a film-report of the event for social media promotion
• Preparation of the venue: rental of a studio for online broadcasting and suitable equipment, venue branding
• Providing a debate moderator and Polish Sign Language interpretation
